With a team of experienced optometrists and dedicated staff, we strive to deliver personalized, top-quality eye care to our patients. Dr. Olivia Hwee, a University of Waterloo School of Optometry graduate, is a highly skilled and compassionate optometrist in Whitby. With valuable clinical experience from her internship at John Kenyon American Eye Institute, she has expertise in diagnosing and managing various ocular diseases, including Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy, Cataracts, and Macular Degeneration. Driven by her connection to vision care, she is dedicated to providing excellent comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages. Dr. Hwee's focus on patient education and individualized care ensures patients receive the best treatment and recommendations for their needs. She enjoys traveling and spending quality time with friends and family in her spare time.

Dr. Amanda Edgar - Associate Optometrist
Dr. Amanda Edgar, a graduate with Dean's Honours from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry, brings a wealth of experience and a passion for serving underserviced communities. Her clinical externship during the COVID-19 pandemic provided her with unique challenges and the opportunity to develop innovative approaches to eye care. Dr. Edgar has a strong ocular disease management and dry eye treatment background. She also volunteers with the Special Olympics International Opening Eyes program, focusing on providing comprehensive eye care to young athletes with special needs.
Dr. Gurkirat Taggar
Dr. Gurkirat Taggar, a Toronto native and a University of Waterloo graduate with honors, is a dedicated optometrist. His clinical rotation at the Eye Associates of Pinellas in Florida provided extensive knowledge of ocular disease management, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Taggar's clinical interests include specialty contact lenses and dry eye disease management. He actively volunteers in the community, conducting vision screenings for school children and providing optometric care for athletes at the Pan American Special Olympics.
Stephanie - Office Manager
Stephanie, who joined the optometry industry in 2004, has been an integral part of Brooklin Vision Care since its inception. With her expertise as a Certified Optometric Assistant, she effectively manages the clinic's day-to-day operations. Stephanie's commitment to building relationships and providing exceptional service gets reflected in her active involvement in the community. She also contributes to the field by providing continuing education modules and teaching workshops for the Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant program.
Lori - Registered Optician
Lori, a Registered Optician with experience in Toronto opticals, joined Brooklin Vision Care in 2019. Her expertise in frame selection and eyewear adjustments helps patients look and feel their best. Lori is known for her friendly demeanor and exceptional skill in repairing and adjusting glasses. She enjoys exploring the community with her family and is dedicated to ensuring that every patient feels relaxed and comfortable during their visit to the clinic. Her passion for helping people extends beyond eyewear, as she enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children, exploring local eateries, and immersing herself in the vibrant community.
Marwa - Optometric Assistant
Marwa recently joined Brooklin Vision Care as a receptionist and optometric assistant while pursuing her studies at the University of Toronto. Her love for summertime and travel is matched by her enthusiasm for stylish sunglasses, which she proudly showcases at the clinic. She enjoys reading, shopping, and cherishing moments with her family and fiancé in her free time. Marwa is thrilled to be part of the welcoming community and exceptional team at Brooklin Vision Care.
